To that December
I’ll always go back
to place my feet
in your snowy tracks
( to remember every crunch :
crushed cold white sugar
on a fruits of our devotion ).
Love,
don’t you remember?
That glass of soft red
last of autumn sunset
when the trees were lit
and time was drunk,
and plum splashed across my soul.
Where again ( and again )
I’ll be lost in your earth
where the words of my heart
will unfold
and unfold.

Beautiful poem, Katy….”plum splashed across my soul” ✨

Glad you enjoyed that line, Bartholomew 😊 I figured something had to be drunk if the theme was wine, ha!

This is such a lovely tribute to Mother Nature, or that is my take on this gorgeous poem. I love these words dear Katy,
“That glass of soft red
last of autumn sunset
when the trees were lit
and time was drunk,
and plum splashed across my soul.”
Your photographs are also beautiful. Lovely work my friend.
Be blessed. Sending much love. 🤗💕❤️

Katy, How wonderful to be having a love affair with Nature..and find the words to express that so vividly..I can see how you built your poem around the line, ” and plum splashed across my soul.” It’s one of those perfect lines, that calls out to be part of a poem:) When one of those comes to me, I have to sit down, write it and see what else my muse is feeling:) Your poetry has that beautiful balance between imagery and emotion “Where again (and again: ) your personal feelings mix so well with the crunching snow, the plum and red you so well describe. The photos, as always are perfect:) Lovely transporting poetry once again…:)🌺🌸💐
