I have posted this poem before, but wanted to update it with this gorgeous photo of Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs taken by Justin Peterson with Colorado Mountain Images. He was so kind to let me use it here!
a love poem
meeting you:
a fateful breeze
of mountain air
on autumn's leaves
learning you:
a golden burst
of halo's glare
on forest peaks
knowing you:
a quenched thirst
of sparkling flakes
on glass-shone lakes
loving you:
a blissful surge
of lily's bloom
on thoughts preserved
losing you:
a throbbing pierce
of razor's edge
on red rock's cliffs
loving you:
a gifted kiss
of soaring heights
i reminisce

It was a privilege to call Colorado my home for the last three years.
This beautiful state holds so many treasured memories for me and I will miss it deeply.
“loving you:
a gifted kiss
of soaring heights
i reminisce”
I love those lines. 👌❤️
