“No One Else” was introduced to me by my voice teacher last summer and I completely fell in love with it. The song is sung by the character Natasha in the musical Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812. “No One Else” has come with an exciting, challenging and transformational journey for me artistically, technically and emotionally. I hope you will enjoy my rendition of this otherworldly song.

Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 is musical based on a thrilling 70 page segment of Leo Tolstoy’s War and Peace. The production is truly transcendental, with steampunk staging and musical inspiration merging Russian folk and classical music with indie rock and EDM influences, earning the unique classification of an “electropop opera.” The Great Comet was composed by Dave Malloy and directed by Rachel Chavkin in 2012 and eventually made its way to Broadway in 2016 in a very unconventional dinner-party setting, starring Phillipa Soo, Denรฉe Benton, and Josh Groban. The story takes place just before Napoleon’s invasion of Russia and follows the ingenue, Natasha in her pursuit of love and redemption, and the philosopher, Pierre, in his search for meaning in life. The musical immediately stood out as an and intimate audience experience earning 12 Tony nominations in 2017, but closed later that year.

      1. My sister and I listened to Broadway soundtracks (actual albums cause I’m old :)), and then I watched lots of musicals with my daughters, and they were both involved in music and theater through high school and college.

  1. Oh, so…. it was with a little trepidation that I clicked on the video – as if I was not ready for the blissful mood from reading your words to end. It could have all dissipated like oil in soap water …. but…..what a tremendous surprise to find a truly lovely voice. It lifted me toward a past memory and my eyes dampened. Thank you for your art Katy Claire โค
